Technology and R&D

Palziv’s capabilities begin with in-house compounding of base polyolefins and functional additives, including fire retardants, anti-static agents, and UV stabilizers. These compounds are then processed through advanced extrusion and crosslinking technologies, supporting both chemically and physically cross-linked foams in roll and block formats. Downstream processes such as lamination, thermoforming, CNC cutting, and adhesive application are all performed within Palziv’s own facilities, ensuring streamlined workflows and tight quality assurance.

The company’s R&D division is central to its ability to develop next-generation solutions. With dedicated pilot lines that replicate full-scale production, Palziv can rapidly prototype and optimize formulations to meet complex mechanical, thermal, acoustic, and environmental performance requirements. This includes the development of materials with enhanced sustainability features. For example, Palziv incorporates up to 30% PIR (Post-Industrial Recycled) content in selected foam products – without compromising on performance – offering customers a responsible choice that aligns with circular economy principles.

Palziv’s laboratories are equipped for a broad range of testing – including flammability (FMVSS 302, UL94, EN 13501-1), thermal conductivity, acoustic damping, ESD resistance, and chemical compatibility – allowing materials to be tailored and validated to exacting specifications. All testing is conducted in compliance with global standards such as ISO, ASTM, EN, and DIN, supporting customer certifications and regulatory compliance.
